What would a greek goddess use for a trick or treat bag?
I’m being a greek goddess for halloween, and trick or treating with friends. My costume is home made, so I guess the bag should be. A goddess can’t carry around a pillow case or pumpkin! Any ideas? Cheap as possible
Jim P: Wow. Just WOW. First, greek gods make as much sense, or more, then the bible, and its because of percy jackson that I started learning greek mythology.
I forgot to mention Athena? Oops. I’m her. She is the goddess of wisdom and battle stratagy. Also, in one hand i will carry a sword (the sword gave me the idea to decide Athena, and she is one of my favorite goddesses). I don’t know if I said this, but maybe a cardboard sheild glued onto a pillow case? But that is a bit tacky.
More about Athena:
She invented the olive tree and her sacred animal is the owl.
Safyre: Athena never married. I try to stay with facts
Cardimom: Yes. She and Poseidon both wanted to be the patron god of Athens, so they both invented something. Poseidon made a salt water spring. Athena made the olive tree. Athena won, and the city is now Athens. (pretty smart since I’m only 13)
And frankly, goddess and slave don’t go together. And how would that work? Get my friend to carry my bag? Be helpful, please.
Akumaxkami: A vase or a picture of a vase? Because have you ever tried to carry a vase filled with candy around? And what would the pic look like?
Hera: Tsk, tsk, tsk. Can you not tell the difference between a god and a goddess any more? I feel that Hermes may not like your answer, and it is for a goddess.

Invented the olive tree!?!?! OK
She wold likely have a slave carry the stuff.
You could get a pic Greek inspired vase or pot to put your candy in.
get a pole
get some piper cleaners and stick them together with sellotape/duck tape (or what ever its called lol)
draw some wings on cardboard and cut them out
Curly the piper cleaners around the pole and stick the wings on
TaDa! one home made Caduceus
A basket with white flowers. Or some sort of flowers.
Carry a goddess-like purse that is pretty big.
Sew on some leaves to a small pillow case type of bag. Or make something out of some sort of flowing cloth that matches your costume.
a potato sack looks old and out dated like the idea that there are Greek Gods ect…
OK. For Athena you’re looking for something battle related…
How about making your own quiver to store sweets and goodies in? You could strap it around your waist instead of on your back (that might have been more practical in battle anyway)
I would use a large woven basket, like a wicker type. You probably already have one around the house or could borrow one, the big unfinished wicker baskets at hobby stores are $10 or more depending on the size. Based on who you are dressing as in particular, there are Greek Goddesses representing mother Earth, nature, spring, the hunt, beauty, love, weaving, marriage-you could embellish it with real or artificial flowers and/or leaves, little hearts, gold colored wire or twine, arrows, etc.
Great costume idea, that’s something you could make really pretty on the cheap.
I’d suggest you make a carry bag out of some faux fur. If anyone asks, you could simply say that it used to be the nymph that was cavorting with your man! You turned her into a leopard, then skinned her to make the bag.
